The Latimer Brother’s have escaped from Sellis County Maximum security prison. Dutch is the first FBI agent to arrive at the prison. His arrival, however, is suspisciously early and causes his section chief to ensure that Dutch won’t take part in the retrieval of the fugitives. Dutch can’t shake the feeling that the hunt is part of something bigger, something that’s going to dig up some ghosts long buried. Meanwhile, the Latimer Brothers initiate their first contacts on the run, leaving a trail of blood.
